I received this email from a user of the pages and thought it would be useful to post it to the site, (8th June 2000)
Has anyone reported the same problem as I have had with these people? I signed up 2 weeks ago paying my £39 but have not as yet received my 0800 number. The money has gone from my bank account however. I rang 2 or 3 times last week and was told it would be dealt with that day. This week I rang on Thursday, spoke to someone who took all my user details etc and promised they would get back to me within an hour. They have not contacted me, they have not responded to two emails I have sent yesterday and today. For the last two days if I try and phone them I get their recorded message followed by either an engaged tone or constant ringing with no answer.
Incidentally I signed up with X-stream today and got an email address and username of Fleetgold@libertysurf.co.uk so the two companies are definitely linked, although joining via X-stream you do not have to pay the introductory fee. I've not got through via the 0800 number yet - it is always engaged but they make it very clear in their advertising that it may well be very busy so I can't complain.
I was very interested in your web page which I found by accident today. As a very new internet and home computer user (although with 20 years experience with large mainframes so not technically illiterate) I am glad of any hints or experience from others. Keep up the good work.
